Economic Problems Effect School Life?

7years ago, there was an economic stroke in Korea which was called IMF. It is a simpler form of International Monetary Fund. At that time we had self -confidence about our economic system. We spent money like water and bankers lent a bunch of money to companies without any evidence whether they had afford to repay it or not. So after that treaty, the condition of economy went down rapidly and the rate of employment hit the ground. Even though we are still students many things about us are changed too.
First of all, it changes our lectures enrollment style. A university isn??t a middle school or a high school and we are not a boy and girl anymore. The high school was a cramming education style. It means that even though I didn??t understand what a teacher said, just remember it and write it down on an exam paper. It was a memorizing ability test not an understanding test. But now we are grown up and we are in a university. We have a choice to choose what we want to study and about what we want to become. There are two kinds of lectures in a university educating system. They are required subjects and optional cultural studies. In cultural study, we study about human nature, culture and art which aren??t helpful to get a job but for a social life. Like this, a university recommends not only our major study but also cultures.  But nowadays employees only want English communication skills and working ability. Without these high abilities we can??t get a job. This is why students throw out the cultural studies. Even if they enrolled those courses. It is because it is easy to get good grades.
Next, it also changed our goal of school life. After three years in high school??s hellish life and cramming education style, now we have chance to enjoy school life and freedom what kinds of subjects to study in a university. There was an old saying that, ??In a university, you have three things which are you must do: club activities, Love and then study. Studying was not the only thing we had to do in recent times. In my case I only did my best for my club activities before military service. Yes, it??s true I got bad grades, but I was satisfied about what I did because it was what I wanted to do for me. This was my style to learn the meaning of life. Like this, studying is not the only way to improve school life and to learn about society. But these days the saying has changed. It is study: study English, study computers and study of our major. Our goal of school life must not be the same as High School .A University is a last step to enter the society and last course to learn man??s inner and interpersonal relations. We have to learn and recognize these things in a university. But the IMF changed the aim of school and changed a university to an extension of high school or a library.
Last of all, what do you think the best job is? Is the best job what you want to do? No, they are stable jobs like a teacher and a government officer. The IMF also changed our own dreams to social wanting jobs. Each of us has different dreams. It can??t be the same as the other person due to future??s opacity. But surveys said that 70% of men have thought about being a teacher or government officer for his job. And 80% of women have thought about that works for her job. Due to the low employment and frequently fire, jobs, what we wanted, can??t care of our future anymore. The only jobs which can protect us from fire and unemployed are these jobs that I mentioned above. So that??s why so many students abandon their own dreams and choose stable jobs.
       In this article, we talked about how economic problems had affected and changed our school life. These changes are usually connected with our future especially, getting a job. Worse economic conditions make it harder to get a job-we mentioned 3rd-. Also we focus on good grades and effective lectures to get a job and we study only these things in a university-which is in 2nd -. This trend leads us to think that studying is the only thing to do in a university. We don??t graduate from high school, just entered the other named high school, A university!!!
